Lionel Andrés Messi Cuccittini is one of the best players in
the world, a humble, loving and talented person with much to give and
demonstrate.
Biography:
Lionel Messi was born in Rosario, June 24, 1987; at
birth his weight was 3.6 kg, a figure that did not predict the growth problems
he would have later. He is known as Leo Messi, is the third son of Jorge
Horacio Messi and Celia María Cuccittini. He has two older brothers, Rodrigo
and Matías, and a younger sister, María Sol.
Messi's passion for football was born since childhood. His
brother Matías tells that Messi was going to make the purchase with a ball
under his feet, and if his mother prevented him, Leo would sit on the floor and
cross his arms. Such was the passion of little Messi for football that when he
did not have a ball he made himself with old bags and socks.
His family was so poor that as a child he played barefoot
with his brothers Matías and Rodrigo and his cousin Tomi. Over the years, two
of his cousins, Maximiliano and Emanuel Biancucchi, ended up being professional
players.
Messi's first team was called Grandoli, of which his father
Jorge was president. It is said that some of his companions thought that he had
entered only because he was his father's son and took her with him. They were
wrong. Actually Leo entered the club by chance. The coach of the lower
categories needed a player, saw Messi bounce the ball against the wall and
invited him into the team.
One day Messi's father ran out of money and could not pay
the entrance to the Grandoli. Little Leo was kicked out of the club for that.
A short time later he managed to enter the lower categories
of the Newell's Old Boys. He progressed very quickly but every time he lost a
game (even if it was training) he began to cry. His companions ended up putting
the nickname "the weeping".
With only 11 years came one of the most tragic moments of
his life. The doctors diagnosed him with a serious health problem, in the
growth hormone. If it was not fast Leo could not play football again. The
treatment cost nothing less than $ 900 a month and his parents could not afford
it.
They asked all the clubs in Argentina for help, but none
showed real interest with the boy, not even the River Plate. When his parents
had already lost all hope, the F.C. Barcelona and took care of all expenses.
The rest is history.
The signing of the Messi contract is one of the best known
episodes in the history of football. Carles Rexach, then the club's sports
director, faced with the father's threat to find another club, was forced to
write Messi's contract on a napkin! Messi was then only 12 years old.
At age 13 he went to Barcelona (where he currently lives).
His debut in the first squad was in 2003 in a friendly with Porto, which
trained J. Mourinho.
Given his progress in 2004 the Spanish team offered to play
(Leo has dual citizenship) but refused with the hope that he would call the
Argentine team. An unequivocal test for those who accuse him of not feeling the
colors of his native country.
In 2006 he achieved his goal and became the youngest player
to debut with the Argentine national team in a World Cup.
Messi's humility contrasts with the pride of other players.
It is said that when he first called him the Argentine team did not tell his
teammates in Barcelona because he thought he would not jump into the field.
Curiously, he did, but he was expelled 46 seconds after entering. The shortest
debut in history.
His enemies say he doesn't have a "muscular
physique" and that he is short. Messi jokes with his short stature and
faces the problem with a smile "that makes me closer to the ground, so I
better control the ball." Messi is the image of a popular brand of
sunglasses.
In the sentimental it cannot be said that it is womanizer.
Still with his longtime girlfriend, Antonella Roccuzzo, which says a lot about
him.

They have a son in common, Thiago Messi, of whom Leo wears a
tattoo on his left leg.
Messi was part of the minor teams of Barcelona between 2000
and 2005. He arrived in Barcelona on September 17, 2000, to perform the
mandatory tests at the La Masía facilities. Three months later, on December 14,
the signing took place on a napkin, as a contract, where Rexach promised to
sign him.
His debut came on March 7, 2001 in a match with Infantil B
against Amposta in which he scored a goal, but in the next game he fractured
his left fibula in a fortuitous action with a rival of the Escola Escola
Escola, for which could not play the rest of the 2000-2001 season.
He started the 2001-2002 season in Infantil A, where he
played 14 games and scored 21 goals, with a goal coefficient of 1.5 per game,
the highest of his career. That same season he was promoted to Cadet B of Tito
Vilanova although, due to bureaucratic problems, he did not play officially and
could only play friendly matches.
The 2002-2003 season was played by Cadet A, a team with
which he won all the titles in his category. The 2003-2004 season began in
Youth B, on August 8, 2003, within the framework of the Toyota U17 Club World
Cup and with the Dutch Feyenoord as a rival, which the Spaniards defeated by 3-1
(Messi disputed the 90 minutes and signed an assistance to Franck Songo'o). On
September 14, he debuted with Juvenil A in the 3-0 win over Hercules for Day 2
of the championship, and against Gimnastic de Tarragona, on October 26, he made
the first of his two poker course: goals to 7, 55, 65 and 90 minutes of game
for the 0-7 of his club.
That same season, he made his debut with Barcelona C of the
Third Division of Spain on November 29, 2003, and a few months later with
Barcelona B, against Mataró for day 28 of the Second Division B championship,
on March 6 of 2004; also playing in the final straight of the season matches
with the youth A and B, the Division of Youth Honor and the Copa del Rey
Juvenil de Fútbol. Even before those debuts, Messi played an exhibition match
with the first team on November 16 from 2003 to 16 years and 145 days before
Porto.
The 2004-2005 season played with Barcelona B and the first
team, alternating matches in Second Division B and First Division.
Since then he continues playing in Barcelona FC, everyone
admires them for being such a wonderful person.
